Soundstripe Soundstripe. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome to Outskirts Overland man guys, I've been out for a while. I'll get into it here in a second, I guess. So before we get started, I got a shout out on Onyx Offroad. If you guys want 20% off, that'd be a great gift for any overlander or traveler in your life. 20% off Global Overland 236. We'll get you 20% off of Onyx Off-Road.
Speaker 1:Secondly, weboost. I totally missed Cyber Monday, black Friday. Weboost has huge sales right now. Weboost is actually the only supporter of the podcast. If you use Outskirts5, all capital Outskirts5, you get 5% off over there. It can be applied on top of any other existing discount that they have. Go ahead and check out WeBoost. I've loved mine, although that is a more expensive item for someone on your list. It is something that, if you have a family and you want to stay connected, that I would highly recommend having in your kit. So that's about what I got for today as far as shout outs.
Speaker 1:So, guys, I've been out for a little bit and I've been. I've had some life stuff going on Um, not necessarily good or bad, but I've had some life stuff going on as well as, um, I've been camping. I mean, I've just been camping uh, in in, in, as, as some of you know, if not all of you know there is some preparation that has to occur to go camping. So I kind of haven't I've where the truck had some upgrades it needed. That took some time away, but I've got some stuff to talk about Today. I'm going to go over some things that I use specifically. I use that, I love that. I think are great gifts for any overlander. They might not be something you're even thinking of, so this is really for the loved ones of my listeners more so, or for my listeners to take to their loved ones Like, oh, this is a great idea, look at this, look at that, look at the next thing. I am not a budget conscious person per se when it comes to this hobby, but I will be showing a number of things that I feel like are very applicable and necessary within this hobby and would be great gifts for any, any overlander that that you know, any traveler, camper, anybody along those lines. So one thing I do want to shout out real quick and I got to get it pulled up. Even I don't even have it pulled up. I recently I got.
Speaker 1:So I talk a lot with you guys, and those of you guys that listen a lot know I talk a lot about a fridge A lot. I talk a ton about fridges, so I want to start there. I talk a ton about fridges, so I want to start there. I talk a lot about fridges.
Speaker 1:I've been in the background doing a lot of stuff for the podcast and I want to. I want to first start by saying, while I've been doing a lot for the podcast, I've done a lot of I don't want to say soul searching, but I just don't. That sounds the best right, like that sounds the best. Soul searching on like what direction I want to go with this? I don't want to go like budget, cheap, but I've been thinking I need to find a way to be more applicable to my listeners Now. Whether that's me having my friends test stuff out that I get, cause my truck is relatively complete at this point, so whether that's having my friends test stuff out that I can get a hold of or even buy it so they can test it out because it's not something I have a use case for, I need to start finding in my mind this is where the podcast will go. As far as gear is concerned, I'm going for the best value for your buck. That doesn't mean cheap, but I am looking for that.
Speaker 1:That being said, I have gotten a few things. Um, recently I talk about and I said I talk about fridges. I I got a new fridge. I got a Booge RV Rocky series. So this thing is. It says 69 quart. It's called the Rocky 65. So it's 65 liter. But let me see what we got going on. Here is 40% off right now and I'll screen share here in just a sec with you guys. It's the Bougier RV Rocky Series.
Speaker 1:I did not get this fridge for free. I paid for this fridge. It's a brand new model. I paid for it period. So let me get this, share this up on the screen with you guys, and you guys should all be looking at Booj RV right now. So this is the fridge I got. It's all stainless. You can get a battery that'll power it. I don't have the battery but, as you can see, it's $699. I a couple reasons I got this.
Speaker 1:I did talk to the company Again. They did not give me a free fridge, but I had been looking at a lot of fridges. Now that I have a bed rack and my fridge is in the elements, and I was like man, I need something that's a little more built for that. And so what I was looking at was the man, I need something that's a little more built for that. And so what I was looking at was the ARB Elements fridge. It's the only fridge on the market that claims to withstand the Elements. Well, I talked to someone at this company and they said that that's the point of this fridge is to be more rugged for that point. So I'm going to show you guys right now, literally immediately 40 off, 279 off.
Speaker 1:This fridge is 420 and again, that's a 65 liter stainless steel fridge. That's a fridge Like. That's not. That is amazing, guys. Um, I got what I got is like really good pricing early is what they let me have so that I could get something out about it, for sale was up. They had three days left on the sale. Um, so if you've already spent all your Black Friday money, do as you wish, but this is a $700 fridge that you get for $400 right now. It's all stainless, it's very well constructed. All the vents here for you guys that are watching they're reverse vents, so like water and stuff can't get in them as easy, and that's what it's for. It's more rugged. So I did get this fridge.
Speaker 1:I have been running this fridge. I have not been running my Dometic. Everybody that's ever listened to this podcast hears me talk about the Dometic. My Dometic was three of what you can get this for. Now you could buy three of these for what my Dometic cost. So, that being said, do I think it's a good buy? Yeah, I do. I've used it two trips, three trips, now two trips. It's got an app with it. The app is very easy to use. I mean, everything's intuitive Handles are metal. Of course, some of this stuff is plastic, but it's got trays on the top that I really like that you could take out. It's dual zone. I guess I didn't say that that's huge. It's dual zone. Uh, it's got these trays you could take out, which I'm a huge fan of.
Speaker 1:I really wanted a fridge that was more budget, because I love having a fridge, but I've actually only had expensive ones. So I was like you know what, I'm going to bite the bullet. If it turns around to bite me back, I'll let you guys know. I mean, that's all there is to it. But this is Booge RV. Again, iceco makes stuff similar.
Speaker 1:This is probably the cheapest one, the nicest, cheapest one and, like I said to you guys, I'm not looking for the cheapest stuff I can get. I'm not looking for the most expensive stuff I can get, I'm looking for the best stuff for the money. I am looking for the best stuff for the money and I think that that fridge I think this fridge is the best is the best stuff for the money. Um, and again, I'm not saying that to say, hey, go buy it. I got no discount code, I got nothing. They got 40% off. Right now you can extend the warranty. It's got a three-year warranty as it is, so if you extend it for two years now you got a five-year warranty, so that's also awesome. Uh, lifetime customer support, and I could tell you that's who I got a hold of to find out about it. You know, there's no magic here. There's no like back door, outskirts, overland crap going on here.
Speaker 1:I paid for the fridge, have the fridge. I'm using the fridge solely for you guys, because the moment you pop this bad boy in your cart from $6.99, $4.20, and you get a hat, and you get a hat. Do you want that hat? Probably not, but you're going to get it. I got magnets for mine.
Speaker 1:I did tell them I have a podcast and one of the big things that I like about the fridge is that it's kind of more fridge-like because I can put magnets on it. Whole nother reason. I was looking for something that was stainless or metal. All the stuff on my truck is aluminum. So, with that being said, everything being aluminum, nothing magnets to anything. So I don't have anywhere to magnet stuff except on the body of the truck. So, that being said, I wanted a stainless steel fridge. I was looking for a stainless steel fridge Really, like I told you guys really wanted to go with the ARB elements. Charlie before podcast has an ARB element fridge. Charlie, trying to help you guys make good decisions and get the best bang for your buck, that's the direction I'm headed. So I will be providing you guys more info on, like when good stuff goes on sale that I've used.
Speaker 1:So, first thing, got a new fridge. That fridge is $420, brand freaking new and that is again. That's the 65 liter. You could get the 41. Come on, work with me here. Website. You get the 41 right now, which looks like. I'll go back to sharing this, but you could get. This is just this the thing. That's a 65 liter, so, like again, that's. That's cheap as it is, but you can get this $41. I guess I'll go through the prices for you guys. You can get this $41, $549, add to cart, it's $330. Dual zone and it's $330 brand new. I mean, guys, that is cheap. My dude, my fridge, is worth more used Like, and that's not to mean this is junk, this is not junk, this is really good stuff. So again, they make this same fridge and this is their upper line. I haven't looked at it, nor could I give you guys advice on anything else, but they make a 41, a 55, a 69, and an 81. I have the 69. They're all in quartz, so converted to liters they are a little different, but again, stupid good deal.
Speaker 1:Great fridge, all stainless steel. So there's that, that's freaking awesome. Yeah, 330 for a dual zone. Johnny just said 330 for a dual zone. Yeah, isn't that wild dude. And it's stainless, freaking steel like it's not plastic, it's touch free, stainless steel too. It doesn't streak or any of that bullshit. Anyways, again guys, I bought this thing but because, yeah, it it's wild, that's brand, freaking new, that's not used, that's not secondhand. That's not rebuilt, that's not defect, that's brand freaking new stainless steel fridge. So anyways, all that being said, that's where I'm headed with things. So I'm going to bring another couple products. It's the Christmas one, right? Woo Christmas, love it, right. You guys are going to get cool stuff.
Speaker 1:So next thing I'm going to talk about that I have and I use, and I have had for some time, is I have a fire maple stove for my cooking and it runs on the Jetboil canisters. I do have a Jetboil, so I'm always going to use the jet boil. I've talked about that before. I use my jet boil flash every time I go camping multiple times.
Speaker 1:So, that being said, I wanted to consolidate down and try and get rid of propane. I don't like carrying the tanks. I don't like dealing with it, refilling it. How much is in it? It's hard to tell how much is in it. I can't get a good gauge system on it. I've, I've, I've exhausted efforts with it. I said, screw it, I'm gonna find something that runs on this isobutane, just like my jet boil. That's a stove. So, without further ado, I will show you guys.
Speaker 1:My fire maple is the fire maple Saturn. It's high efficiency. It folds up real small, like it's not big it goes in a case like this. You turn it upside down. It's a little more powerful than if it's right side up, packs up really nicely. I love this thing and, again, runs on isobutane. Does not run on propane, runs on isobutane. These guys right here.
Speaker 1:This is an $84 stove. Okay, I love mine. Check this out, I love mine. I use it, I cook on it. It's great. Everything heats up fast. Also, because it's stainless steel is again, it's not going to corrode, it's not going to get jacked up. It's very. The controller for the uh, for the flame, is right here. So there's your controller right there. It's got a plus and a minus. You screw it in. It's very nice, high, high-quality stuff, stainless steel line, great Light Once you're done cooking.
Speaker 1:One of the big things that concerns me and has always concerned me is is one of the things that's always concerned me is does it cool down quick? I don't like things that are great to cook on but don't cool down worth a crap. That's why I wanted stainless, like complete stainless. There's no steel, there's no like cast iron or heavy metal on this. It it's really quick, it's got right here, so so you guys can see, right here's the igniter. So you click on this bad boy right here, just a little click on the side, that's what ignites. The flame thing works great.
Speaker 1:I love it, love, love, love, love, love it. And I could carry a hundred of these. Maybe not a hundred, but 40 of these isobutanes, for what the space that propane takes up. I like that too. It's also not nearly as affected by the cold, and I've said it before you guys, I and I bought it june 2nd you can see it right here and I've I've used it 20 times since then. At least love it. Love that thing. Fire maple is great.
Speaker 1:That's the first thing on my list for your overlander that likes to go camping as you get into the hobby of overlanding. The whole hobby is organization. This comes in a nice case. It's a nice piece of equipment. This is a one-time buy. I think it's great for anybody and everybody, and for $84, versus your Jetboil Genesis at $399, which is like the gold standard of overlanding at the moment. This thing is great. Did this long ago Been using it? Love it, I mean, do I think a Coleman is a great one too? It is. There's not many good quality camp stoves cheaper than this one and I love it. Like period, I get asked. Every time I'm out and I cook, I get asked about it. So that's that's the first thing on the christmas list that I have.
Speaker 1:Secondly, secondly, I use Sea to Summit. I use Sea to Summit pots and pans. They also, oh, maybe if I did. Oh, that still came up for me. So I use Sea to Summit pots and pans these exact guys right here and you'll see they're not cheap. These things are expensive $69 a piece. They do go on sales. I use the 8-inch. They make a 10-inch right here.
Speaker 1:The reason I use Sea to Summit is this is titanium. Again, I care a lot. Well, it says it's aluminum and ceramic. Actually I thought it was titanium. I was mistaken. The thing is it is easy to clean, super easy to clean. Never have a problem with something sticking, the coating's not coming off or scratching off and the handle folds up onto it. Not only do I love this I have two of these Not only do I love them when mixed with that fire maple, this pan fits right over top of that case that comes in, or the bottom.
Speaker 1:So now that also fits really well. I love these. They cool off and heat up extremely fast, so that makes you more efficient at camp as well. You can heat things up fast and you can clean up fast as well. I love these Again. I have two of them. I will tell you guys right now. These do go on sale. These go on sale often, and REI has them on their website, and they go on sale often For the purpose of this podcast, though.
Speaker 1:Hey, kate, how are you doing For the purpose of the stream of the podcast today, though? Hey, kate, how are you doing? For the purpose of the stream of the podcast today, though, I want to show you guys things that I think are actually worth the money. This is expensive. I do believe it is worth the money. So that's my next thing, obviously, cookstove pans. Right, two big things.
Speaker 1:Next, let's go on over. Kate you ready? Are you ready, kate? Because you're going to like this, go over to the good old Midwest Adventure Outfitters. Next thing I have on my Christmas list that I love is for any overlander, this is going to be a universal item to non-vehicle specific roller cams. Man, I freaking love me some roller cams. So I'm on midwest adventure outfitters here. They have a full line of roller cams. These are a great.
Speaker 1:Anything from a stocking stuffer to to to something you want. These are so good quality. I cannot tell you guys how good a quality these things are. You can get them like. You can get the tie-down strap with the hook. You get two-pack of just the tie-down strap hook you can get. I'll go back to page one here you can get just the straps. You can get the whole shebang here. All kinds of different sizes. Hopefully you guys can see all of these different sizes. And again, these are all on Midwest Adventure Mods right now.
Speaker 1:He actually just showcased the shop, just actually showcased these as a stocking stuffer. Totally did not provoke me to do this. I have like five of these things. Love these things. Love these things. They're cheap. Buy your freaking loved one. Every kind he's got from $8 to 1250. Like guys, hook a brother up. They're great.
Speaker 1:The reason these are so much better than any other cam style strap is let me find the head here on it real quick. The head here we go. Strap is let me find the head here on it real quick. The head here we go. The head actually has like a ball bearing cylinder here and these bad boys right here grip. So this thing is like like you don't have any slippage, you don't have any issue with it binding because it's got that, because it's got that roller on it. These, these are the best. I don't use a ratchet strap anywhere on my rig anymore. These are the way to go. So but if you're somebody that wants a hook, you can get them with a hook, or you can get them to where they just wrap around on themselves like a regular, like any other regular cam strap. But they're also not any freaking that much more money, if at all, than any cam strap you can get. I'm pretty sure if you went to Home Depot right now and got the Night Eyes brand, it's more than this. These are a great product.
Speaker 1:I want to also highlight, while I'm on the site here, my one thing, that that my friend has had for years and this is a game changer OK, I don't like that term the best. But these guys right here, these rope roller cam straps, these are great. We have replaced me and him, at least have replaced every single solitary guideline for a tent, for an awning, for anything. With these. You just pull them and they catch themselves, period, and I always put the D-ring through the hole of whatever I'm guidelining, tent awning, whatever, and then I can wrap it around a tent stake they're freaking. That makes your life a thousand million, trillion, bazillion times better. These are a great thing to have. Two is not enough. You need eight of these and hell if you don't have a use for them right now, you'll find one. These are great. I can't tell you enough about how awesome these things are, and if you're anybody that has a tent, you enough about how awesome these things are, and if you're anybody that has a tent, anything going on there, these are great for guidelines. So I would highly recommend moving those for that. So I'm going to be on his site for a minute here, because that's all just roller cams.
Speaker 1:So next thing thing that I think is relevant to every overlander is and I talked about pans I got nothing against with what Benji has here, but I said what I said. But what I do like that Benji has is you can get and Benji is the owner of Midwest Adventure Outfitters but what I do like is any of these freaking knife sets, so like you can get a nice knife set. So this is the Encamp. This is one that I love. Again, guys. I'm not telling you guys, this isn't the cheapest thing under the sun, but this is a camp knife that operates like a pocket knife, so it folds up and it's next level good. This thing's great.
Speaker 1:The first time I saw this I was like gimmicky. The second time I saw it I was like I gotta. I got a reason to have that, because a lot of times when you get a good cutting knife it's so long and again I said it before it's so long it it's space matters. Guys, I don't need this big, huge, like samurai sword and my stuff. I love this Santoku knife. Love it In camp makes extremely high quality stuff. This, this knife, is so good. This is the equivalent of probably 110 knife for your house and it folds up on itself. So for camping application, primo, love it.
Speaker 1:Next, let's find where's our gci stuff at here. Here's the gci kit. This comes with all kinds of Tupperware plates. It all fits in itself. One good thing GCI has got going for them that I do like is on top of their pot. Here you can use this as a strainer. If you're the cooking type, that's actually kind of nice for you. I'm not Mr Cook, not Mr Cook, but if you're even a you know, perennial noodle eater. Gsi's pan here or pot, excuse me, with the strainer lid, is really really nice and it's a fraction of the price of the Jetboil one and you can get that whole entire kit, you know, for 150 bucks. But that I'm talking, that's Tupperware's cups, plates, pots, pans, strainer, strainer. I mean, that's a ton of stuff there. So like that's a lot of stuff for your money.
Speaker 1:If you have somebody that's just looking to get started, I have the destination kitchen, guys. This is the GSI destination kitchen. So this is something, guys. I have this. I use this all the time. It comes a knife, it comes with a little paring knife. But what's coolest about this is these things are foldable. So you just unfold them and use them. You fold them back. I've used them on my pots and pans, super hot. Um, they're not. They haven't melted. But you've got also got.
Speaker 1:These are for soap. It comes with a scrubber. I don't know if you guys can see the little scrubber there. It comes with some forks and knives too, a little cutting board, salt and pepper shaker both right there. But and again, you don't know you need this stuff until you need it, Having a dish soap and a hand soap that you can just refill is actually really nice when you're at camp. Having a scrubber is really nice, a drying towel is really nice and you have all the things you need here. So I have this. I use it all the time. Again, I like it a lot.
Speaker 1:I think it's well worth the money for the person that you're looking for and I feel like I'm hitting camp cooking stuff like way more than is necessary. But these are great things that you know. When you look at Christmas, when you think Christmas, when you look Christmas, I think gift sets. So I'm always, you know, and maybe that's the 90s in me, I don't know, but I'm always looking for like, look at, you can get 15 things in this thing. So, like I think about that stuff, which why I really really really like those roller cams. You can mix, mix and match as you want and those things are just. Those things are great. Um, and they really are that much better. Before anybody asks they, they are that much better? Yeah, they are, and again, they're still not even expensive. All right.
Speaker 1:Next thing that I want to touch on that you guys will be blown away. I don't think anybody really realizes how cheap this item is. I want to talk about how every camper that I know they buy themselves the normal stuff, so I'm not going to talk about that like they're going to buy all the big stuff themselves, right? Like, yeah, could you buy your son or daughter an awning, and would that be awesome? It would be. There's not an awning on here that I'm going to convince their mom or dad to buy for their kid for Christmas, even if your kid's 40, like you know what I mean.
Speaker 1:But what I will talk about is a diesel heater. Now, this is the diesel heater I have. Again, I do have friends with other diesel heaters. They've had good luck with theirs too, but this is what I have. Okay, so again, as I talk about everything, this is a V for 5 kilowatt, 12 volt heater. It's $87. I don't know if I just blew everybody's mind. This is under 90. I have easily done 50 plus nights with mine.
Speaker 1:I just recently took mine out of this configuration and put it in a uh waterproof apache case from harbor freight. This thing's, this thing's great. It comes with it. It comes with a call it remote. Here's the control panel exhaust, and I am not the guy that's going to tell you I got this $80. It was $120, I think, when I got it a couple years ago. But I'm also not going to be the guy that's like.
Speaker 1:I upgraded a bunch of stuff on it. Mine is stock as a rock out of the box. I've done nothing to it. I haven't upgraded fuel lines. I haven't upgraded fuel lines. I haven't upgraded fuel filter. I haven't upgraded anything. I took it out of this configuration and put it in an Apache case. I drilled some holes. You know I'm ingenuitive, but I don't have some new exhaust, I don't have some new crap Like. Mine is stock, stock, stock, stock, stock. I have not upgraded a single thing on it or changed a single thing on it and it has done me great. If it would have lasted a year for 87 bucks, I'd have justified it. I'm on year three, so we're.
Speaker 1:I mean you cannot beat a VIVOR diesel heater in in. In my mind there's H calorie ones and they make, and one of my buddies has an lf bros one and it's evidently like a more bougie one. I don't know, but this is doable by anybody. For somebody, 87 is well within. I mean, you perfume costs more than 87, like. If you're looking at like things you're buying people. You can't get a 60 minute massage for $87. This is a great thing. To get the overlander slash camper in your life. I have friends that use the same diesel heater right here to heat their chicken coops Things fantastic. Holds a gallon of fuel. You can run it on diesel or kerosene, depending on you know what your flavor is. I run mine on diesel and it uses about a half a gallon-ish a night, so you get two nights out of a tank. Great, great, great thing. The VIVOR diesel heater is great.
Speaker 1:I won't tell anybody anything different ever. I bought it. It's cheap. I love it. I mean I can, can't. It's not let me down yet. When it lets me down, you guys will know, because I'll be cussing it till the cows come home. I promise you that, because it will suck. So so I don't want to excuse me, so I don't want to get too. I don't want to. I don't want to tell you guys, the best thing that's ever existed by any means, but I really do like it and it's something that I would. I would highly recommend you buy all right.
Speaker 1:Next thing and I talk about this a lot and, guys, you gotta have a hess pillow if you're camper, I don't care. If you're sleeping on the ground, I don't care what you're doing. This bad boy right here, hest pillow is the thing to have. And again, hest pillow. I talk about it. I tell everybody they need one At some point. Hest needs to pay me. It does depend on the massage. But I'm going to be real honest with you right now, corey. If you've got one of them expensive massages, it's not going to be as comfortable for the long run as a 70 degree tent in 10 degree weather. Don't go for the instant gratification. You, dopamine fiend, hit the diesel heater, all right. So for the same price, almost as the diesel heater is, is a hest pillow.
Speaker 1:This pillow changed my camping experience. I was actually very minimal when it came to this. I I did not have a pillow at all. I just brought a hoodie in my truck and I folded the hoodie up and that was my pillow. I said you know, I'll know I've made it in the world of overlanding when I can justify a $75 pillow. Well, now I've got a $75 pillow and I'm telling everybody about it.
Speaker 1:I think the Hess pillow is. I will be a lifelong Hess customer. They, they're doing it and I've let people touch this thing and hold this thing because it looks like it's flimsy and it zips up smaller and they got three sizes and everybody's like what are you talking about? I can't explain it to you. But they even make a standard pillow. I have the camp, but they make a travel that's even smaller. It's very, very, very like. It's a dense, soft pillow. I love it. Um, I think for anybody that does, people don't even know they need this and if you got it for them, they would be psyched about it once they used it. You know, on Christmas morning you might get some weird eyes, but once they sleep with it they're going to be like I was, you know quote unquote, pun intended sleeping on that product.
Speaker 1:Test pillows is what's up. All right, let's see. Got more stuff here. So what are some things? I got a few people in chat now, so I like that. What are you guys asking for what? What's on your guys christmas lists currently? Um, I don't really. One thing I just bought for myself was I just got these bad boys again. I'll pop up midwest adventure mods or midwest adventure outfitters. Excuse me, sorry, I do that like every single time, but I just bordered myself.
Speaker 1:Um roto packs, so these rot packs here. That's something that's on my list that I think is useful for me, and this might be something if you're the individual that listens to this and you do get your significant other, boyfriend, husband, friend, brother, sister, a diesel heater, this is something I think that you will want, and this is a two gallon diesel roto pack and, as you guys can see, there's all the mounts and stuff. So I mean it's self-explanatory, right. One thing that I freaking love about my roto packs this guy, if you see down here, it'll link into another one here. Here we go, here we go. These are linked together and these are linked together.
Speaker 1:I will tend to link a diesel one and a gas one together in the winter, and in the summer I will link a gas one and a water one together. I have all three. That is the type of stuff that actually does come in handy, and my roto packs are battered very so they last a long time. But the fact that you can click them together, like you can click that one with this one Now, you got too long, or you can just put them on there individually, of course, and then, and then you can you could do the same with this one. They're all interchangeable. They're different colors for different things Red's gas, yellow's diesel, white's water. You could put diesel or whatever in a white one. It's more translucent, it's more of a clear. But then that brings me to my next thing that I have for this Roto Packs. I have water Roto Packs. Right, you can look at the two gallon water. It's $59, substantially cheaper than the other two, cause it's not going to hold fuel.
Speaker 1:Let me see if Benji has these pumps. I was down at his shop a couple of weeks ago and he had water pump that was not this Dometic for these and it was super freaking nice have them on the site right now. So if you go over to Midwest adventure mods they got um, go down here to contact and you put your name, email, phone number and you comment say hey, I was listening to Outskirts Overland and he was talking about these Rotopax water pumps. Benji has some there that just fit straight on without the adapter, but also he sells the adapter for the earlier model Rotopax. So if you're looking for a water solution, that's always always great, and he has them and they're pretty inexpensive actually, and it's electric water pump that sticks over the top of these and and I know he has them in the store Um, cause, I was just looking at them and man, they look, they looked, they look.
Speaker 1:They're way easier. So you could just got your Roto pack and now, instead of having to even dismount it off of your rig to get water out, you just slip the pump over top and just click it, turn it on and you got water, running water, electric pump. And I don't want to speak out of turn, but I think that thing was in the ballpark of 30 bucks. So you get a $59 water, two gallon water tank and a $30 pump. I mean, guys, that's pretty damn good, cause I know that the Dometic go jugs are about the same. They're, they're about the same amount of water and the Dometic faucets 99 bucks, in the jug 70. So I mean it's considerably cheaper to go roto packs.
Speaker 1:And then you got the modularity of all the different ones. Over time. You can kind of, you can kind of grow into it. I do, like I told you guys before, I like things that you can grow into. So I'm a huge fan of roto packs. For that Heck, even when you get to roto packs they make freaking storage ones. Even roto packs are. They're just a great thing that, like I said, you can grow into, and they make all the stuff to replace gaskets. They're good company. I've had had roto packs for three years now in different configurations. They're great, they've been out in the weather, they're awesome product. So I think they're a great thing too.
Speaker 1:But specifically for water water because other water solutions with jugs and pumps you can mix and match stuff, um, but it can take up a lot of room too. The fact that you can mount it on the side of your truck, um, they make steadfast overland. If you're somebody that has an suv with side glass, they make a mount for a roto pack that suctions onto your side glass steadfast overland. That also available at midwest adventure outfitters um, but that's another, that's that's another, that's just that's another brand, but he makes those just furthering, you know, down the rabbit hole of roto packs, excuse me, so let me go to my list. I have a whole freaking list for you guys here.
Speaker 1:Another thing that I highly recommend for anybody that's an overlander if you've got, and you can get these in different configurations this is for my iphone here. I'll get these up here. These are such a little thing that I love and, for those of you that are going to listen later, what these are is these are coiled uh device charging cords. So everybody wants a long cord but they don't want it to take up a bunch of space. So everybody wants a long cord, but they don't want it to take up a bunch of space. These extend. So this one right here that I bought is USB-A to lightning, because I have a. I got a USB-A CarPlay and lightning cable, and so that's what I have for my iPhone, but they keep stuff out of the way. You don't have cords everywhere and, like you can see, this thing is not even just a foot and it comfortably stretches to two feet, but it will even go to two and a half three feet and it goes right back. This is nine bucks for two.
Speaker 1:I think this is something that every overlander should be considering. I have them that I have them for my ipad and my iphone, so I don't have cords all in the way of my controls and touch screens, and that stuff drives me nuts, and this is something that I think is well worth nine freaking bucks. Um, so that's something that, again, I have it, I use it, I own it, it works well and it's cheap. But you can get usbc to lightning. If you scroll down. They make a freaking. They make one for everything, usbc to usba. They make c to c. You can get any of them to see there's a ton. I think that's worth your time and your money 100.
Speaker 1:I looked at these thick guys here but they don't. They're not as pliable and it's kind of not even. It negates the the benefit you get from these. Actually these cheaper ones. They got the different heads and stuff. That's gimmicky. I didn't have good luck with that. I. The cheap nine dollar one is really the best luck with nine dollars for two. Um, even so, I think those are worth having. It's a coiled lightning cable for your car. It's a carplay cable, so for those of you guys listening it's, you could go to type in coiled USB-C charging cable, coiled lightning cable, like you would for anything else. They're freaking great, so that's definitely a cheaper thing.
Speaker 1:Down my list here, guys. Sorry, I am prepared, but it is a lot of stuff. Um, here's another one that I think is a great gift for any overlander. Yours is 15 dollars. I don't like this one. That's not the oh man. All right, what I got here is a tire pressure gauge with a bleed off.
Speaker 1:This is, again. This is something that I think is and I'll explain to you why I like this, do I think it's the most accurate one in the world. No, I don't, I don't. I don't know, though either I'm not magic. It does come with some rubber stuff around it. It is brass and it does have a bleeder, and it does have a bleeder, so if you over air your tires, you can bleed them off. This also is glow in the dark, so if you're doing it a dark, you can see the damn thing Now gonna think, who cares? You use it, you'll use it. The thing's 15 bucks, I love it.
Speaker 1:Um, I have it, I use it. I'm hard on stuff. I drop it. It comes with a bag. Mine's not in it, okay, but it works. And, again, you can bleed off tires as well as check them. Works in the dark because it does glow in the dark. And, as you can bleed off tires as well as check them, works in the dark because it does glow in the dark. And, as you can see, it's not green in the day, it's white, but it glows in the dark. Mine's actually in a bag all the time it still always glows in the dark. Explain that to me, who cares? It's 15, it works. Um, and that's a rhino usa tire pressure gauge, you know, with glow dial and it has a bleeder valve so you don't have to do it with your fingernail.
Speaker 1:Also something yeah, blind spot. Adventures just said a nine dollar cord I can afford because he's just bought new tires and he says he broke. But yeah, I, and I'm going to show some real cheap stuff I've gotten. You know, not cheap made, not crap, but just inexpensive that I've gotten recently. Something here we go.
Speaker 1:One thing I wanted to touch on is, you know it's kind of a dumb thing, but people that overland and off-road they're going to always go through a lot of hyper fluid and I think it's always a good call to get any overlander. A thing of the rain X, you know. A thing of the rain X purple. A thing of the rain X green bug stuff. A thing of the orange stuff, like they'll use it, I use it. Um, oh, man, one of the items I had for you guys isn't even available anymore. I was about to blow your guys' minds, sorry about that. Um, I do apologize for that. They don't even make it anymore. That's a huge bummer. They were on to me, they were freaking on to me guys, and that's a huge bummer. I'm bummed out about that. It was a power station that I actually picked up, not on Black Friday or anywhere near Black Friday. That was like freaking with the cat's meow.
Speaker 1:Next thing, I've given these away a bunch. Even it is retractable keychains. So this is what this is and for those of you that have never heard of this or seen this before, so these are retractableable key chains on a carabiner. I take the clip off of them they got a clip on them and it come off simply with a Phillips head screwdriver. They go to 31 inches and I use these for cord management. I attach my fridge cord to it, my power station cords. I keep them. That keeps them pulled back tight to the rig so you're not getting cords stuck on stuff and binding cords and cutting cords and stuff and I use these for that. So it's a two packer retractable key chains, heavy duty carabiner. They have a steel cord. They're $11 for two.
Speaker 1:I've given these away like to people all the time. Time. They're a great thing to have. They're a great thing to have in your kit. It helps with cord management. They're really, really, really helpful If you're somebody that's trying to figure out how to quit binding your fridge cord or binding your solar. These will keep those things out of the way to the configuration that you're wanting them to go. It's like an old school. I don't know it's old school, but it's an earlier Overlander trick that I've been doing for a long time and there is a use case for it. So a lot of people like these things and use them for that exact purpose. They're $11.
Speaker 1:These are the ones I get. They do break sometimes so I usually buy packs, two packs, so I have four on hand. Or if I'm going somewhere to like an expo or something, I always actually usually have an extra two, four of them with it's. It never fails that somebody's like what's that about? Because they'll see my fridge cord like taught and I'm like, oh, I just use these key chains like that's so cool, and I'm like that's so cool. Here you go like that's that quit eating up 30 and 40 dollar fridge cords.
Speaker 1:So that's something I like too for cord storage and different things that you want to keep managed in a specific spot. That's light, I mean. Naturally it's got to be super light, like a cord, but works great for that. If you had something that you wanted the ability to pull it out to plug it in and it'll go back like a 12-volt plug or something for lights. You could wrap the end around that with a zip tie and it could be taught to the side panel of your truck or the bed of your truck back and you could just pull it out and latch it and it'll go back in. I've used them all over the place in different forms or fashions for different plugs and cords and stuff. So it's kind of along the same lines as the coiled phone cords, but for stuff you can't get a coiled cord about like longer cords. So those are a great thing. I love them Regular all the freaking time, great stocking stuffer stuff.
Speaker 1:On the more expensive side of things I I got I going to show you guys last fit floor mats. These are what I have in my truck. They're last fit, they're great, heavy duty, easier to clean and they don't end up binding up like Weathertex. So these are $129 and that's for the front and the rear. Weathertex are about $60, $70 more for that amount of floor mat. They're not they they're not slick, they're more of a textured rubber, but they're very durable. Um, I do like these.
Speaker 1:I did change to these. I don't know that that you could call it an upgrade, but exactly this picture is what I was dealing with, this picture right here. With the weather tech, you get this kind of thing going on here and it goes all the way up here, which, as they start to shift, can kind of affect your ability to use your gas pedal and stuff. Like I've had shoes catch, like I've had shoes catch over here where this is, and that's not something you want to be dealing with at all either. So I switched to these las fits. They have been. I mean, I don't notice they're there, which means they're doing what they should. I should never be fighting a floor mat, so they're doing. They're doing what they should, um, because I was fighting floor mats before. So I think they're great.
Speaker 1:They make them for freaking everything. These are for my tac. They're great. They make them for freaking everything. These are for my Tacoma, obviously, but they make them for everything and you can have them in a day. I think it'll tell me here. But, yeah, you can have them like by the 10th, so you can have them in a week. Unfortunately that's way slower than mine, where mine were like, but that's all good, all right, let's go down my list here, guys, all right.
Speaker 1:Another thing I use all the time is all top adjustable auto stop tire deflator. So for your, for your deflating purposes, guys, I like these all top ones. I have these. You twist them to the psi you want, you screw them on, they stop when you're done. I have tested them against my tpms sensors. They're pretty accurate and versus other brands they're 39 bucks and you can adjust them easy. Like some of them aren't as easy to adjust. You literally just loosen up this. You literally just loosen up this set screw right here and then twist it down to the psi you want and then tighten the set screw. Done, done and done they also.
Speaker 1:The kit also comes in like a nice little bag which I just keep in my air up and air down kit and it comes with valve stem caps. You know whatever about that a nice little bag which I just keep in my air up and air down kit and it comes with valve stem caps. You know whatever about that. But the little bag is super nice, I just throw it in with my airing up stuff and airing down stuff and it's just, it helps it be all in one place. It's right there with that Rhino, you know, tire pressure gauge that I showed earlier, all top adjustable auto stop tire inflator valve kit. These are the 10 to 30 PSI. Uh, I should, I should specify I use the 10 to 30 PSI. So, cause you are only airing down with them, I never go below 10 myself. I don't have bead locks, but they make higher PSI ones for, like, maybe bigger trucks or something I don't know, but they're they're different increments. So you do want to make sure that if you are somebody that listens to this or somebody shares this to you, you want the 10 to 30 psi version, not a higher psi version for your off-road and overland individual.
Speaker 1:I like them. Oh, brian's here. Brian just said he has these same ones actually and loves them. I love mine too and and you know they work, they work great, I don't. I mean they've worked flawless for me. I've loved them. Um, out here, and I could go on some freaking pants about some stuff, but I won't do that with you guys today. Uh, that's a nice guy that I. This is a nice thing. I get asked about regularly. These are. Excuse me, these are something I use that I guess nobody thinks about.
Speaker 1:Maybe this is a desk lamp. It's magnetic. You can put the magnets on stuff and it'll magnet to them. They'll their stick on magnets very light. It's color changeable and if you turn it it's got a. It's got like a dusk to dawn setting so I can turn this on on my truck. It freaks people out every time I go camping. I can turn this on on my truck and do this sensor down here and you can literally put it on like it says right here motion sensor mode, right here auto. It will also work at night and people walk by my truck in the pitch dark and my light will pop on and they're like what the heck? Yep guys, I'm so fancy, $1515 and you can make it whatever color you want. You know, and, like they said here, like they're doing their marketing magnetic installation, aluminum material, recharge.
Speaker 1:Mine is out in the elements 100% of the time. This is literally like I have it magneted to my deck system, open to the weather. I mean it does run out of battery eventually. I don't have it on motion all the time but I shut it off, but it does eventually run out of battery. It doesn't have an indicator that you're running out, so you kind of got to be on top of that. But it'll last me two, three months of trips on one battery and in all the weather mud, rocks, snow, anything it's still working just fine. Um, that's actually just it'll. It'll say right here I bought it march 30 this year. I actually just bought another one because I had one and I wanted two, and my other one, I don't even know. I probably bought it in 2020 and it still works just the same, just as well, and it's just a, it's just a motion. I mean it works great, no problem at all, and I've loved it.
Speaker 1:So that's something I think people don't don't think of. Uh, don't think of like, just lights, like for me, one thing I like about it is you could put it on your um. I put them all kinds of different places, like the back of my truck, because sometimes I'll walk over there to grab something. But I don't want to like dig for my lights and stuff. But I've also used them on the bottom of my rooftop tent, so as I climbed down the ladder, it turns on when, so I can find my shoes and stuff when I'm going pee in the middle of the night or whatever, and they work really well. Um, for that, for that exact purpose. Um, so I have. They have a very big use case for me. They get used a lot. Um, yeah, that's, that's where I'll, that's where I'll end it with cheap and expensive stuff right there, but definitely just if nothing else, guys, the things I showed you on amazon, I showed you the diesel heater.
Speaker 1:Go over to midwest adventureters. They got the cam rollers there. They've got the roto packs there. They've got the foldable camp knife, the foldable camp kitchen knife, there. That's a super good piece of gear. Go over there, check out what they've got. Don't forget, if you go over to Midwest Adventure Outfitters and you're interested in the roto pack water pump that's not a million dollars Go over to Midwest Adventure Outfitters and you're interested in the Roto-Pak water pump that's not a million dollars.
Speaker 1:Go over to the bottom. Scroll to the bottom of the page. Go to contact. Contact Benji about it. He has them and he'd be more than happy to talk to you about it. He showed them to me. They're on my own list.
Speaker 1:You know something I want, but I have seen them work. Want so, but I have seen them work and just the the ease of them going on these, the ease of them going on the roto packs is just like. It's so much nicer. I have a much expensive one that has like a fitting that I gotta dick with and they're so nice, um, so yeah, anyways, don't forget you might want to go back and listen bookmarkmark some stuff, save some stuff. I went over camp stoves, fridges that are on sale, new fridge. I got all kinds of stuff. Guys, if you have any questions ever, I plan to do this every podcast I do until Christmas I do plan to. I got to get back with you guys.
Speaker 1:Like I said, I've been kind of going through a revolution of what I want to do with the podcast, kind of what my shtick is, and, quite frankly, I think I'm very interested in gear and I'm very interested in good gear and finding out what the best gear is. I'm a regular guy, I'm not a millionaire, but find out what the best gear is to spend my money on. I go, I do go a lot, so I test gear, you know, and stuff does break and I do get a lot of warrantied stuff because it breaks. I have a dirt box 270 awning on my truck that I. I broke one. Well, evidently me and a lot of people broke them because they redid the whole. They've upgraded the whole awning and I have a brand new, upgraded one on my truck now because they took that feedback from all of us using it and they upgraded the product so like that's you know, and that's not a cheap product at all but I will use that brand again because that's how they took those warranty. You know claims.
Speaker 1:I guess they took them in and and and made a product better and I mean all of it's better. It's got lights integrated. They use less wattage Now. It's got stronger, lighter aluminum, got a different cover altogether together it's got. I mean they redid a bunch of stuff.
Speaker 1:There was some r&d happening there. They had no problem just sending me a new one for the one I had. That was less than ideal after some uses. I again stuff like that I'm going to be behind always instead of good customer service is great, but if you to see a company take something that was warrantied and send you another one without any hassle, that's great. To see a company take your feedback, completely revamp a product, then send you the new product. That's another level. I haven't never experienced that. So I didn't have a problem with a product that they just sent me a new one. They sent me a whole different, upgraded, redone product. It gets all redone. It doesn't even look the same. It's a different logo, it's a different case, it's a different cover, it's different fabric, it's different. So I can't say enough about that. That's great. That's more than customer service, that's caring. You know the brand cares. So I've loved that.
Speaker 1:But as Christmas is coming up and like I said, guys, I don't want to get too long winded with it, but like I am trying to get more into the swing of what I want to do and I kind of had to take a break from the podcast go camping, because that's where I clear my head. Like anybody, all the rest of you and get kind, will attach to you as you get popular or want to attach to you and although they'll say it, or people will say it, or listeners will say it, or anything will say it, listens, whatever, whatever, they will eventually try and guide you into. You know, oh, you didn't like this. Well, how about this one? You know, like they really want you to like them, to push content toward them to do things for them, and I don't well with that. I'm like I do what I want, like period. If you want to send me some stuff and I'll try it out, uh, the only stuff I've gotten like that has no obligation to say it's good, bad or indifferent. I have no contractual agreement to have it on my truck or even you know. If it sucks I'm going to tell you guys it sucked, and I think I've done that a few times. But I think I'm done that a few times, but I think I'm done with that. I think I'm just going to work more on getting you guys information about things that I find that are the juices worth this and probably turn down you know any anything else that comes my way, unless I actually have interest in it for you guys. Like I said, for my friends to use and try um like that. I'm happy with the things I do have. Really, mostly I was interested in finding a fridge that wasn't 1300 um, which is great and I should. I showed you three fridges between 330 dual zone stainless steel brand new, to 400 by today. That I also now have in my truck and think is great. But you will with that if you guys want to.
Speaker 1:You guys, my listeners are not everybody else's listeners. You guys want to want to talk about any gear. You want me to talk about a subject of gear? I could go ad nauseum about a lot of different things, whether that's camping gear, truck gear, off-road gear, tents, awnings, racks, caps, anything from gas struts to reinforce your tent or rear hatch or hood or you know whatever. You want to talk about specific types of connectors, I use Marine connectors, solder connectors, anything you guys want to talk about anything. Let me know. Uh, that is the direction I'm headed. Like, I want to be that guy. I'm. Well, I'm going to be that guy. That's the guy I am.
Speaker 1:Anyways, like, give you a little advice to what I've done, what I've tried, what's worked, what hasn't. I made a lot of mistakes, I spent a lot of money on mistakes and I'd like to help you guys not do that. So I'll leave it there for this week, guys, I will catch you guys next week. Keep an eye on my Instagram, outskirtsoverland Instagram. I'll be letting you guys know when I'm going to go live. I actually had this planned. I've been extremely busy at work and I just couldn't get a chance to even make the damn story, to be real honest with you guys. So, anyways, have a great night guys. Have a good weekend.
Speaker 1:Hopefully some of those products inspire you to look at some things, put them on your Christmas list, such and such, and I'll be back next week with a whole different. You know, this week was a lot of camping stuff, just camping stuff and random stuff for your Christmas list. I'll probably come back next week with some bigger items in case you are the person that's due for a bigger Christmas present. You know like which could be any number of things. But I covered a lot of stuff. You know $100 or less a lot of stuff. You know $100 or less. Next week I probably will look to cover the $200 to $500 range as far as products go.
Speaker 1:I did, you know I did definitely give you guys the fridge because, damn, that's such a good deal. There's three days left on that. So do what you do, don't go into debt over anything, but you can get a really really nice fridge for $300. You cannot beat that. Do what you do, don't go into debt or anything, but you can get a really really nice fridge for 300 bucks and you cannot beat that. And in Brian, if that's something you're like, what even is that this? You know, obviously this will be on YouTube. You can go back to toward the beginning and not I want you to be in the market for a bridge Neither here nor there. Guys, everybody have a good evening.
Speaker 1:And don't forget you know, out of everything here, there are really good people in this community. Midwest Adventure Outfitters. Use the contact tab, contact the company, contact them. They'd be more than happy to help you. I know that's a like-minded shop to me that's not trying to get money out of you. They want can help you guys get to, because I do a podcast.
Speaker 1:I'm not a consultant in this or anything like that, you know, but like essentially, you guys look at it at YouTube influencers as your consultant and you're buying a lot of stuff that's unnecessarily expensive or unneeded or not good really, and midwest adventure outfitters will, will put, will get you guys on the right track. They are not going to push anything on you and hope and if it's something they don't have or something they don't know about, I know they'll still help you out to figure that out for you, because we're a big part of the community. I think that's a huge part of that shop existing now. So, anyways, I will catch you guys next week. Keep an eye on my Instagram. I will be posting when I'm going live. Then this, as always, will be on Apple podcasts, spotify, amazon, all the podcasting platforms. Here in a couple of hours I'll get my uh, get my people to work on it and we'll get it out to you guys. That way, and have a good night, guys, and I'll catch you guys next week.
