The hey guys. It's charlie, with outskirts overland. How are you guys doing? It's thursday, the second, second, third. What's the date today? Third april, 3rd, geez, um, holy crap. This week has been something. So, yeah, wow, okay, so, hopefully, hopefully, this reaches you guys.
Speaker 1:Well, it's, uh, it's coming into the the weekend and we got nothing but rain going on everywhere here in the Midwest. You know, luckily no rain. You know, knock on wood. But knock on wood, no rain here today. Yet, man, it's nasty looking. You know it's a ramble.
Speaker 1:It's about to be time I have to start cutting grass. It's not overland related, but overland related. That really gets into my time. That stinks, man. I got about an acre and a half probably to mow. Nothing too crazy, take me, not too long. I have zero turn. But once you mow that grass, man, it is on. Some of my neighbors have already mowed. I was holding out past, at least past this rainstorm, because I didn't want it to just be uh, you know it looks good for a day and then it's a madness all over again. So hopefully I made the good and right call there today.
Speaker 1:I was going was going to get into. I don't have a lot to talk about today. I'm a little bit. I got a lot going on. I'm going to and not that you guys care, but I'm just going to tell you I'm going to an eye surgeon today to see about you know what options I have for LASIK or they do like a lens replacement. I'm gonna look into that. I've only worn glasses since like I mean, if you listen to me and Benji, we actually even just talked about this like I've only worn glasses for like less than 10 years and I just can't stand the fact that I need something external to see and lucky it's they got stuff for this that LASIK's been out forever. I can't see what it costs, though. Man, I don't know. It might be a fortune, but I am going to get my eyes looked at today with an eye surgeon. Consult type DLC, see what it looks like to get my eyes fixed so I don't have to keep doing glasses, because I really really, really, really, really dislike having glasses and, unfortunately for my eyes, contacts aren't. They're an option, but they're not a reliable one. So that's just what that is.
Speaker 1:I was gonna see if I can get some feedback. I'm gonna be the guy guys. I'm gonna ask you guys if you guys could just at least go rate the freaking podcast on Apple or whatever. Just rate it. I'm not even saying comment. If you want to leave a comment, lovely. If not, that's lovely too.
Speaker 1:But I've been doing this over a year now and I think I have like 10 reviews and, based on the numbers I'm seeing, I got a whole lot more than 10 listeners. So if you guys and again it just helps get my content out to other people I don't have brands or anything I'm not trying to get to. I'm not trying to get to brands. You know what I mean. I just want to try and get my content out, you know. So that people that all the content that people are getting isn't all, just look at me, look at the stuff I use. Here's a code for it. That is totally fine. Again, that's what people do for a living, and uh, and, and just that's what people do for a living. So that's what they're going to do and that's totally fine too.
Speaker 1:Just, just, please, at least go give my podcast a rating, a star rating. I don't care what rating it is, please don't, don't give me one just to be a. You know, you know what I mean. Anyways, that's just just. I'm going to say it now. Please go rate the podcast, give me a rating, leave a comment if you feel like it. Try and give some people an idea what the podcast is about, because I see when I look at it and I scroll down there's just not a lot there for people that if they were looking for it or it got recommended to them to be like, oh I'm interested, because it doesn't really explain what we're doing here. Part of that's my fault, though. I need to make a better description, but I'm not going to touch on that anymore.
Speaker 1:I wanted to see also I'm asking for more engagement from you guys what interest do you guys have in. It goes hand in hand and I don't want to be the guy that crosses over into more, more gear. But I talked a little about preparedness a couple of different times and I have seen a pretty decent I've seen a pretty decent, you know reaction based on that. So I was wondering if you guys have any interest in talking about, like EDC or anything along those lines, what I carry, kind of my methodology behind that. It does relate to camping still, like I mean, anytime you're talking preparedness, survival, everyday, carry, get home bags. I think they all kind of are synonymous with each other. So that's fine. If you guys have interest in that, just let me know. Shoot me a message, comment on something I have on social media, say, hey, I am interested in that, so that I can just just know. If not, I'm gonna leave it here and that'll be the last you guys hear about it. If you guys are interested in, if you guys are interested in any topic, really just let me know. I have a wide range of I guess I'll say opinions versus knowledge. I have a wide range of opinions on different things that some of you guys could find helpful, depending on what you're interested in. So if that's something you want, go ahead and let me know.
Speaker 1:So somebody just asked where I'm at. I'm like in my car currently, but I'm in Missouri. It's crazy. I'm legally allowed to operate a vehicle, was the comment I just got. I mean, yeah, I guess I have a camera pointed at me, whatever. Anyways, I get trolls all the time now on this. That's just part of it, but nonetheless.
Speaker 1:So, guys, today really I just got a lot going on. I don't have a lot to talk about. I'm waiting on my truck. My truck's going to be a little bit. There's parts that need ordered. It's got to get worked in. It's going to take some time. You know it's it's a lot going on.
Speaker 1:So I am getting ready to have to take the Subaru out camping, probably this weekend. So that'll be something that I will. I will have kind of a review on it as far as how that goes with minimal gear. It's been a little bit. I've had the truck a while. I've had two, I've had multiple trucks for a long time. It'll be the first time I go back to a tent in a few years here. It'll be the first time that I don't have a truck in a few, quite a few years. So I'll be able to give you guys some updates on that.
Speaker 1:I'll be making some uh taking. I'm gonna be taking a lot of pictures and notes, just so I can kind of talk about what struggles I had. Because I won't have a fridge. I won't have, you know, I'm not going to have a full cook set, I'm not going to have a rooftop tent. I'm not going to have. It's going to require some different stuff.
Speaker 1:So that being said, that being said, I would like to do a before of that. I haven't even packed for it yet and then I'll do an after of how that went, what that looks like. But I will be taking this Subaru out camping to some extent, doing something with my Gazelle tent, air mattress, et cetera and see how that goes. Hopefully I don't fall in love with it, because that's my biggest fear is that I actually like it a lot and then I'm in a conundrum. I don't want to be in a conundrum with the Gazelle tent really honestly, but that's what I'll be doing. I will be at more Expo on the 25th and 26th, hopefully with my truck. It's unknown at this point if I'll be able to have my, if I'll have my truck back or not at that point. You know, I'm just lucky enough.
Speaker 1:The guy that has it is working it in. I don't have an appointment, I didn't schedule with him. He is being super solid to just work me in. He's a very busy guy, so I am very thankful for that and it will be done when it gets done.
Speaker 1:So also, guys, let me know I I asked yesterday to let me know if you guys, what you guys want me to bring, like, do you guys is it just stickers? Does everybody just want stickers and patches? Because that's what everybody wants, you know. If you guys want anything else, let me know like what's more unique that you guys might want. I, I don't know um keychains, I don't know bottle openers, I don't know. Don't, don't, don't say something outrageous, like it's gonna be a giveaway item. So also give me that feedback. But really that's all I got today. I don't have a whole lot. I'm more looking for some engagement from you guys on what you guys want me to talk about, what you guys are looking for. If you're interested in some kind of off-schedule topics like EDCs or you know, some light I don't even want to call it bushcraft, but just different stuff as it pertains to you know um methods and techniques for, like, batoning wood, what knives I use, chainsaw stuff, anything just kind of like an offshoot from what we're doing here, just let me know. I really really I know it's not everybody's favorite and I don't want to be the guys that like and subscribe and follow blah, blah, blah, blah, but I really kind of need some engagement to guide this to where I'm putting out stuff you guys want to see, and I'm at the point where I'm seeing a lot of people listening and I'm not seeing anybody giving me any feedback. I'm looking for some engagement for feedback, good feedback, bad feedback message me. I would really, really, really, really really appreciate it.
Speaker 1:This podcast has no sponsors, so I'm creatively open to whatever I want to do. I don't have to talk well about this or not about that. I literally am tied down to nothing, period, not a single thing. I could talk about anything. If any of you have something you want to talk about, let me know. I won't be able to get you on and, you know, not everybody can be on at 830 in the morning, central Time, but I'll schedule a time. I'll get somebody on. Let's do an interview, or not even an interview. Why don't I give you a platform to talk and I'll sit here? You know I have this platform. I've done it. If you guys want to come and just talk about your experiences or something you've got going on or something you learned, I'm more than happy to listen to that. I'm sure the people that are listening right now will be more than happy to listen to that. Just reach out to me. Uh and uh, we can go from there. That's, I mean. That's all I got today.
Speaker 1:Tomorrow's Friday Hopefully it's a freaking awesome day. Hopefully some of you guys aren't in the Midwest, or if you're in the Midwest, you know let's hold out. Hopefully the rain holds out so some of you guys can get out, go camping. Even if it rains. Get out and go camping, but be safe, it's going to. It's a lot of rain projected right now. So just be safe. You know, make sure you've got your contingencies in place and you're got to. You got more forethought than normal. 10 to 14 inches of rain is a lot of rain. I would hate to see anybody get, you know, lose a vehicle, you know just anything. I'd hate to see anybody get hurt or anything bad happen. So just be careful, guys, and I will see you guys tomorrow. Have a good one, please, please, please, please, please, please, please give me some feedback. I need the feedback. That's where I'm at now. Um, love you guys. Thanks for being here later.
